We sell them at the kiosk I work at. So they do exist. :) But in the past I've gone to sporting good stores such as Scheels, Dunham Sports, or Gander Mountain and got hunter gloves which are fingerless gloves, but they have a mitten flap that you can pull over your fingers so they stay warm when you don't need your finger tips. Usually runs between $7 and $15. Hope this helps. :)
If not, you can try going to the Gypsy Rose website. I think that's where we order our "hippie stuff" for our kiosk.

Si, it's mani. You would have to scotchguard the wellingtons thoroughly as water would spoil them. Pigskin may be a cheap option.

I do professional photography as a living and find 4:6 as a good size to crop the picture into, but there is no "perfect" size ratio. As far as your quality/resolution issues go that is not a matter for the ratio but a combination as to how much you are cutting off in the picture, and how many mega pixels you have, and unless your going to print like 20x30 or billboards I stick with about 7.
