I Want To Climb Mount Everest, But I Only Have A Sweatshirt And Some Garden Gloves. Good Idea?

Okay but HERE is my plan! I am going to wrap my garden gloves and body with 102 space blankets and just have goggles peeping out. How do people get frostbite on Mr. Everest when there are plenty of space blankets out there to put around their extremities? Can't you just wear 1023 blankets?!

US $9.99

how old are you ?
One space blanket weighs 3oz, or about 85g in my language. 1023 space blankets would weigh about 87kg.
That might be a serious issue, even without allowing for all the duct tape you would need to hold it on.
1023 space blankets would also be very bulky, however I suppose it might protect you in a fall.
Finally though, and perhaps the most important issue, would it look cool? I think not.
Wow – it amazes me what some people will come up with. I think someone has been watching too many Superheros cartoons.
Seriously, if you ever want to climb something you should start with something no taller than a 2 story house and work your way up from there.
Good Luck
Holy Buddha, you’re ready! I have a Snickers bar, an eye patch, and some shampoo. May I join you?
Salvation through silliness!

I think it’s worth a crack. Let me know how that works out for you ok?
Next time you are looking for a romantic gift in order to make a special occasion even more memorable, this online store might be worth a look. It has over 500 different items on stock for him, her and couples, and these are not only priced competitively but they are also shipped with as much discretion as you might need.
In addition to the romantic gifts for him/her/couples sections that were just mentioned, the actual list of categories includes “Romantic Christmas Gifts” and “Romantic Valentine Gifts”.

Damn communists. Why we buy from these slave labor camps they call the ‘peoples’ government I will never understand. Tibet was taken by force, murder, enslavement, same a Kuwait, but in this case the world just watched and let it happen without saying a word. Instead of sanctions China got an olympics. Tibet will never belong to China in the mind of those that love and respect freedom.

→ My thoughts are with the baby. Renee I agree which is why I proposed the idea of collecting applications today on her outing. Anything she gains via freelance writing should be a bonus and not primary work (as we know these types of endeavors often do not pan out for long term sustainability). She needs a concrete foundation of work outside the home, for sustainability for her child. Anything else should be seen as a bonus.

how many inches from the arm hem do you cut your slit?
Well I went with flat wire. It was the easiest solution for me. They are thin and can be painted over.

I would suggest emailing the manufacturer and ask them.

omg this is a great song but so sad
Don't worry about it- you'll be fine. Most things are only marketed so people think "I gotta have it!!!" when in reality, there is a similar product at a lower cost.
Like the above said, you're better off not wearing a glove on your throwing hand. If you're going to invest in something, get one of those hip pouches and some hand warmers for when it gets later in the season. That'll help more than gloves will.

The Dobsonian mount is an altazimuth mount, but not all altazimuth mounts are Dobsonian. The Dob is a lazy suzan on the ground with a rocker for elevation. But a typical mount called an altazimuth has a tripod with a swivel head that holds a telescope on a tilt axis.
The advantage of the Dobsonian is mostly that it's very stable and cheap. You have to have an eyepiece near the aperture side, so it doesn't work for SCTs or refractors. You see it on traditional Newtonian telescopes mostly, but sometimes see it on modified Newtonian designs. These days, push-to computers can be designed for Newtonian Dob telescopes. The big advantage over a go-to computer is that the operator pushes the scope around, rather than a motor, so a small battery to run the computer lasts months, and operation is fast, setup time is fast since you don't have to align the scope North or level it. The disadvantage of any altazimuth scope is that it doesn't track the sky, you have to keep moving it.
There is a modification to the Dobsonian where instead of having the telescope mounted on two sides in a fork, there is a single side arm that holds it. I have no personal experience with these. Are they as stable? I've no idea. Usually this is on smaller scopes.
I have the Orion xt10i scope. It's very stable. It's portable. The computer works well. It was relatively cheap. It's been reliable. Setup is under 3 minutes from "it's in the car" to "the computer has had it's two star alignment and is ready to go". I highly recommend getting the pushto computer for the beginner. Operation is easy, and the computer gets you to objects quickly, effectively teaching you the sky. I have used a Skyquest xt6, but not very much. It appears to be a nice scope. I'd go with the Dob over the altazimuth scope.
