gardening/landscaping gloves?
I recently started working part-time, doing gardening/landscaping work. I purchased a pair of Wells Lamont "leather palm" gloves, which were SUPPOSED to be high-quality.
I used the gloves yesterday for the first time, and within 20 minutes, the right-hand glove had a large hole ripped in the middle finger. I was only pulling weeds, and there weren't even any thorny plants or sharp objects. I couldn't stop working, so I just wore the gloves as is.
I have emailed the Wells Lamont people, and complained in a very civil way (I have not yet heard from them).
What do you recommend as the best, sturdiest brand of work gloves for gardening/landscaping work? The ones I bought only cost about $5, and I'd certainly be willing to pay more for better quality.

Well no gloves will last forever but a durable but expensive pair of leather “Wolverine” gloves are good, also a pair of landscaper gloves made by:” Midwest” they are yellow and black and found at wal-mart or lowes, homedepot, etc there run about 15 dollars.
I have purchased the gloves that are dipped in latex and found them to be very long lasting. A few years ago I was building a retaining wall and these rubber coated gloves lasted longer moving bricks and gravel than anything else. They also are waterproof which makes them good in the winter for building snowmen and throwing snowballs.
I foiund some gloves of a material called “nitril” that are very tough but also let you “feel” through them. I can even open my pocket knife blade with them on. That’s something I couldn’t possibly do with any leather glove. I only paid $5 for mine at a little small engine repair shop. I think Target sells the same ones for a little more. You might give them a try.
