As a gift, I’m looking for recommendations on a great pair of gardening gloves for my mom.?

   Try Smith and Hawkins either online or in store. They have great though pricey gloves. The other suggestion is search for garden gloves online, look for heavy duty but light gloves. They should allow small objects to be picked up but protect against thorns and sharp objects. There are nice ones at big box stores, but I am not sure about sizing.

   we have lots of sticker burrs in south Texas, and I use leather gloves for gardening, not very pretty, but it does protect my hands

   Home Depot and Lowes (etc.) sell a blue glove with a white non-slip palm and finger surface coating that works very well for me. Generally water proof, too.

   As a long time gardener and one who worked in the industry and tried probably every glove on the market… I always go back to leather. Not the heavy work gloves but the fitted, soft leather with breatable synthetic uppers. Machine washable too. I got mine at Home Depot.

   The best ones are water-proof. It is not fun to garden and have the feeling of mud building up slowly on your fingertips. The best for me are the ones that look like they’ve been dipped in rubber.

   I use Wonder Gloves which can be found at gardening centers or sometimes hardware stores. They are made by Garden Works, 13215 SE 30th St., Bellevue, WA 98005, phone 425-455-0568 – under $10.00 and they are longer than regular gloves and have a vinyl outer shell with seamless cotton lining and can be washed in the washer. I have several pairs, one pair has lasted over 5 years – love em. Hope this helps

   I got a gift like that one year it was a decorated watering can with two garden tools and a great pair of gloves the rubber kind that can get wet.It was one of my favorite gifts ever! Great Idea!
